The key-operated switch is used for an electric motor driven doro locking system for motor vehicles, as in the main patent. The motors are built into the side of the coachwork. The electric motor concerned moves a draw lever when partly turned, via a gear with a drive crank. Across a slot guideway this lever moves a swivel lever, held rotatably under spring force at the slot end, to activate the bolt. With premature stopping against the bolt, the motor carries out its part turn. The rotary bearing is displaced against spring action in the guideway. Security is enhanced, and motor damage in the event of doors being incompletely closed is prevented.
