The clamp type terminal is designed for use on small electrical appts., e.g. relays, and is suitable for single or multistrand copper or aluminium conductors. The terminal comprises a box section (1) with upper (3) and lower (2) contact plates. One end of the upper plate (3) is bent over at an angle (4) so that the end of the conductor (5) is turned over and pressed against the lower plate (2) when the clamping screw (6) is tightened. The angled end of the upper plate has sharp edged notches which cut through the conductor oxide layer to give a sound contact.
