Agents against lice and vermin e.g. fleas - contg. cupric oleate in a non-inflammable organic solvent

New agents against lice and vermin contain 0.05-0.1% cupric oleate dissolved in a non-inflammable organic solvent, the soln. opt. being diluted with non-inflammable organic solvents, wetting agents or ointment bases. Lice (including nits) and vermin such as fleas are killed within 20-30 mins. of application to humans or animals. The prod. has an anti-itching effect, so that scratching does not occur and injury due to penetration of scratches by the agent is minimised. Cupric oleate is non-toxic to humans, and use of non-inflammable solvents eliminates fire disk. Pref. organic solvents are aromatic alcohols such as benzyl alcohol, esters of unsatd. dicarboxylic acids such as diethyl maleate, esters of oxycarboxylic acids such as ethyl lactate, and terpene alcohols such as menthol. Partic. pref. agents contain cupric oleate and menthol dissolved in organic, non-inflammable solvents and/or wetting agents.
