Apparatus for discharging material from a heap has a movable bridge for extending across the heap and a discharge conveyor which comprises two endless, parallel traction members 1 extending parallel to the bridge and spaced conveyor members 3 each fixed to each of the two traction members 1; each conveyor member 3 has a generally horizontal, rearwardly-projecting carrying surface 31 which is adjacent the following conveyor member 3 when the conveyor members are in the section of the conveyor which discharges the material, and an opening is left on at least one side for the entry of material. When the conveyor members 3 reach the star wheel 6, they are swung up and over and the material slides off the carrying surfaces 31 onto another conveyor 5. Guide walls 4 are preferably provided projecting forwardly and outwardly at an angle to the direction of conveyance P, the guide walls acting to sweep the material on to the carrying surface 31. <IMAGE> |
