An open-mouthed bag formed from superimposed plies of thin flexible sheet material is provided with a region of adhesive (14, 15) on an outer surface of the bag. Closure of the bag can be effected by folding the bag to bond the adhesive region (14, 15) with a further region (13) of the outer surface of the bag, which further region may also be an adhesive region.
