Machine for processing domestic and industrial waste contg. sufficient thermoplastics scrap to serve as binder when melted by the working friction, is claimed. The machine comprises a heatable/coolable roller having working width of 800mm, mounted inside a relatively strong housing. The "squeeze gap" (of which there may be several) between roller and casing may or may not be adjustable. The compsn. to be homogenised is forced through the gap by the rotation of the roller and the frictional heat so generated melts the thermoplastics scrap in the compsn., to act as binder. The homogenised prod. is a useful starting material for mfr. of all kinds of moultings whilst eliminating potentially environmentally hazardous disposal f refuse and waste materials. Thorough homogenisation is achieved. |
