A contact of a printed circuit board connector has a pair of laterally extending flanges 46, 48 for preventing axial displacement when mounted in a cavity 24 in the connector housing, the flanges 46, 48 forming longitudinal channels in the cavity side wall 50 as the contact is inserted into the cavity 24. A second pair of flanges 56, 58 move within the channels as the contact is inserted and prevent lateral and rotational movement of the inserted contact. The portion 30 projecting from the cavity 24 for engagement with a printed circuit board extends in a channel formed in the housing to preclude rotational movement of the contact within the cavity 24.
