<p>A process for treating textile materials comprises (a) applying a first compsn. contng. a finishing agent, (b) applying a second composn. in foam form prior to fixation of the first compsn., (c) collapsing the foamed compsn. to force the first compsn. into the textile, and (d) fixing the finishing agent to the textile. The finishing agent is pref. a colouring material, a durable press agent, a water repellant, a soil release agent, a softener, a weighting agent or a fire retardant. The first compsn. is pref. also applied in foam form, and is collapsed before application of the second compsn. The process can be used to treat a textile with more than one finishing agent e.g. it can be used for dyeing or printing or for the serial application of differing types of finishing agents.</p> |
