The tool holder is for use in a machine tool, having in a single body a positioning spigot (1) and a tapering portion (2) fitting in a socket, together with a swarf deflector (3) and a main body (4). The lower front part of the latter is formed by a face (42) sloping towards a boss (41), at the free end of which the cutting tool (46) is mounted. A bore (40) passes through the body from the sloping face to the spigot to accommodate a screw securing the holder to the mounting bar etc.
