The oil for lubricating internal combustion engines comprises a base oil consisting of a mixture of paraffinic, naphthenic and aromatic hydrocarbons and additives. The additives include: zinc dialkyldithiophosphates, calcium sulphonate and phenate, a succinimide and a copolymer of styrene and butadiene, in a proportion of 2 to 3.5 % by weight. Application to the lubrication of petrol and diesel engines of all types.
