Spectacle frames injection moulded with internal decorative inserts - esp. for including inserts adjacent to the hinges

Spectacle frames incorporating separate metal inserts for hinge components and for trimmings are made by loading the inserts into the cavity of an injection moulding tool and using the flow of the moulding material to partly or totally submerge the inserts as appropriate. Eliminates ancillary assembly operations involving rivets or adhesives etc. Used esp. for incorporating trimming with heavy surface relief profiles. Process is most readily applied to frames where the hinges are mounted a short distance along the side arms, and not at the junction of the frame and the side arms.
