Process for removing the residue from a pressure reactor and plant for its use

The pressure reactor (10) is employed for the regeneration of coal in a wet-route oxidation unit. A conduit (12) fitted with a valve (14) carries the ash from the reactor to a removal vessel (16) which has a liquid delivery (18) and two discharge conduits: a vapour discharge conduit (20) in communication with the atmosphere and situated in the upper part of the vessel, and a liquid and ash discharge conduit (22). The valve (14) is controlled so as to maintain the reactor under pressure while allowing a stream of ash to flow towards the vessel (16). <IMAGE>
