To the sides of the blade, the member has opposite faces (5, 6) shaped to conform with the upper and lower faces of the blade, while its two other faces (7, 8) are parallel to the axis of rotation of the fan when the blade is set at a zero incidence angle. At the hub end, the member extends beyond the blade in the form of a sleeve changing progressively from cylindrical to rectangular shape. Two honeycomb plastics cores (15, 16) are glued to the parallel faces of the member so as to form the leading and trailing edges, and the complete blade is finally encased in a reinforced resin skin adhering to all its components.
