The distributor consists of a truncated cone vessel (1) clamped on the top of a drum/filled with inoculant suitable for mfg. cast iron contg. nodular- or lamellar- graphite, or other irons. In the vessel is a round box/contg. a redn gearbox which can be moved vertically and is used to drive a propeller blade or rotary feeder. The vessel and drum are turned upside down so the inoculant flows down the annular gap formed between the periphery of the box and the bore of the vessel. The gearbox is then lowered so the propeller blade is in the optimum position for unloading the drum through the narrow end of vessel, via a vertically moveable conical plug. A very simple and inexpensive method for providing dosed amts. of inoculant.
