Thiourea derivs. (I; R = C1-6 alkyl, X = halogen), useful as fungicides, were prepd. by reacting amine(II) with phenylisocyanate(III). Thus, 20g of N-(4-chorobenzyl)-N-sec butylamine was added to cooled soln. of phenyl isocyanate and mixt. was stirred at room temp. for 10 hr to give 91% N-(4-chlorobenzyl)-N-ter butyl-N'-phenylthiourea.
