Mining machine for wide seams - has frame each side of face conveyor supporting upper machine and guiding lower machine

The mining method for wide seams, uses a coal plough (2) at low level and a second machine (3) at high level, both guided along a face conveyor (1). On the face side of the conveyor is mounted a frame with a vertical plate (7) with a box structure (5) attached to it. This may be mounted on a floor plate (14) for the coal plough. On the other side is mounted another frame (6) much higher than the first. This has a rail (13) along the top to guide the hooked end (24) of a telescopic support (4) for the upper machine. The hook is on the end of a stemp (23) with a tube fitting inside an outer tube (21) with a spring (22) between them forming the telescopic components. At the other end is an arm (20) which slopes downwards and inwards to rest on a guide bar (8) on the top of the face side plate (7).
