PURPOSE: To allow a xenon lamp to provide light instantaneously and reduce the size of its reflection board by making its envelop to include filled substance consisting of xenon gas having a preset pressure and to be made of a slim main body having preset external configuration and dimensions. CONSTITUTION: An internal envelope 16 includes xenon gas and provides two different pressures. One of them is a charging pressure within a range from about 4 to 15 atmospheric pressure at a room temperature and the other is a rather high actional pressure about 20 to 65 atmospheric pressure. And the internal envelope 16 is composed of a slim main body whose total length is in a range from about 15 to 40mm and its neck part has its diameter from about 2 to 5mm and its spherical rot-like central part possesses its central part whose diameter is in a range from about 6mm to 10mm. This internal envelope 16 has its watt number and physical dimension smaller than those of the conventional xenon lamp. Thus, since a xenon light source 16 is of comparatively small size, an instantaneous light beam can be generated and also a size required for the refection board 12 of an automobile head lamp 10 can be made small. |
