The equipment processes endless material in a combined guide, the material being passed alternately round rollers in top and bottom rows. At the outlet is a squeezing press, driven at a speed controlled by a jockey roller so as to regulate the tension. Several at least of the rollers are driven at constant torque by a hydraulic motor. The adjusting device for the jockey roller is connected pneumatically, hydraulically or electrically to a hydraulic spill valve between the main hydraulic supply and return pipes to the motor, so as to adjust the pressure and thus the torque.
