Flexible intra-uterine contraceptive device - has loops forming part of flat elliptical ring with minor axis on shank

The intra-uterine contraceptive device is of elastic material, with a shank from one of whose ends extends a pair of symmetrical loops in the same plane and curving towards the shank. The loops (2) form part of a flat nearly elliptical ring, whose minor axis coincides with that of the shank (1), and which extends beyond the apices (5) of the major axis on the small curves of the apices (4). The loops can have tangential extensions beyond these small curves, the angle between the extensions and the shank being from 30 to 75 deg.
