Polycryst.-sintered ceramic materials which are useful for dental filling and prosthetic compns. are prepd. Thus, Ca ion was reacted with phosphate ion in the aq. medium at pH 10-12 to give a gel with Ca-P mole ratio between those for hydroxyl apatite and whitlockite, the ppt. of a gel was sepd, heated to a temp. of above 1000OC but below the decompn. temp. of hydroxy apatite, and sintered to give the ceramic materials having well compacted properties.
