ETHYLENE ALKYL ACRYLATE COPOLYMER COMPOSITION

Coating compsn. contains an ethylene-alkyl acrylate copolymer (I) and hydrated Al2O3 (II) which has been treated with >=1 silane (III) RaSiX4-a (where R is lower alk(en)yl or lower alkynyl, X is 1-20C alkoxy and a is 1 or 2). (III) is pref. vinyl-tris(beta-methoxyethoxy)-silane and is used in an amt. of 0.5-5 pts. per 100 pts. (II). (II) is used in amt. of 80-400 pts. per 100 pts. (I). (I) contains 5-18, pref. 5-10% alkyl acrylate pref. Et acrylate. The compsn. has improved flexibility, resistance to scorching and resistance to mechanical deterioration due to clamps or dips.
