PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery that can suppress intense heating, even in case of being exposed to high temperature environment after being overcharged, using an organic solvent excellent in a low temperature characteristic, for a nonaqueous electrolyte. SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode active material, mainly composed of a metallic double oxide containing Li, a negative electrode active material mainly composed of a carbon material that can reversibly intercalate/de-inter-calate Li, and a nonaqueous electrolyte with lithium salt dissolved in an organic solvent. In this case, the organic solvent consists of 0.5-5.0 vol.% of ethyl propionate, annular carbonate, and chain carbonate. |
