Two=stage hydrometallurgical process - where leaching and cementation is effected in vibrating reactor which feeds a flotation chamber

The plant includes a vibrating reactor used for the first process stage, and a stationary reactor for the second stage. The drain region of reactor is provided with a mixing chamber contg. mixing bodies, e.g. rubber balls and sepd. from reactor by a partition permeable for a liq. medium. Chamber has an inlet for reagents, and an outlet leading to reactor. Chamber is pref. filled between 5-80%, esp. 40-60% with the balls, which are pref. made of material inert to the reagents used in the process, esp. using an elastomer, i.e. rubber balls. Partition is pref. a removable overflow weir; reactor is pref. used for leaching and/or cementation, whereas reactor is used for flotation. A simple and inexpensive plant eliminates the need for a mechanical stirrer.
