<p>A manually adjustable traffic breakdown signal to be used in conjunction with the warning triangle which is compulsory on the Continent, consists of a stand, made of wire to form a scalene triangle, by which the emergency signal plates (pref. of polystyrene) can be mounted on the road surface. Two plates of equal size cut of a stack of six are displayed at a time, joined by a pivot at the centre of opposite edges and located by two protruding pins of the wire triangle. One of the signs is always PLEASE; the other can be a red cross if first aid is required, or a petrol can if petrol is needed, or other notices.</p> |
