The invention relates to the use of the sensible heat from the outlet gases coming from the partial oxidation of a fuel, the said sensible heat being intended for the generation of superheated steam. According to the invention, the outlet gases coming from a gas generator 1, which are not cold, are led through two heat exchange zones 16,23, the water is converted into steam in the second of these zones 23, and the steam is superheated either in the first zone 16 by indirect heat exchange with the outlet gases, or in a third heat exchange zone 55 by indirect heat exchange with a liquid heat-exchange agent that has been heated up in the first zone by indirect heat exchange with the outlet gases. Part of the steam or the liquid heat-exchange agent may optionally be passed into the outlet gas stream through an opening 33 in the walls of the first zone 16A. <IMAGE> |
