<p>The conversion of carbon-containing compounds, nitrogen oxides and components of the exhaust gas of internal combustion engines to water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and ammonia catalyzed by metal oxides having the general formula ABO3 and a perovskite crystal structure in which 1% to 50% of the B site metal ions are ions of the platinum group metals, the remaining B site metal ions are ions of non-platinum group metal having an ionic radius between about 0.4 and 1.4 angstroms, and the A cations are of at least one metal of valence 1,2 or 3 and having an ionic radius of between 0.8 and 1.65 Angstroms.</p> |
