<p>1,2,4-Oxadiazole and thiadiazole esters are disclosed of the general formula or wherein A is oxygen or sulfur, R1 is lower alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms, benzyl, substituted benzyl wherein the substituent is nitro, lower alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms or halogen, lower alkenyl having 1-6 carbon atoms, furymethyl, cyclopentenylmethyl, cyclopentylmethyl, cyclohexenymethyl, cyclohexylmethyl and R2 is the residue of a carboxylic acid selected from (+)trans-chrysanthemumic acid, (?)-cis, trans-chrysanthemumic acid, dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid, tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxlic acid, dihalocycopropanecarboxylic acid, tetrahalocyclopropanecarboxylic acid and fenethric acid. These esters are useful as insecticides.</p> |
