摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image variable magnifying method and its device, which reduce block distortions and improve throughput obtaining interpolation image information including a pixel on the boundary of mutually adjacent sections so as to set an average to be output image information concerning boundary pixels and so as to set interpolation image information to be output picture information as it is concerning pixels except the boundary pixels. SOLUTION: When variable magnification of K/L-fold is conducted in a column direction, and M/N-fold in a row direction (K is a natural number different from L and M is a natural number different from N), a base image is divided into the blocks of N×L pixels, the DCT is executed for image data of the base picture and the IDCT is executed by deviation an obtained conversion coefficient with respect to the pixel position of the base image to obtain M+1-number of interpolation image data in a row direction including a pixel position on a block boundary and K+1- number of interpolating image data in a column direction. Since interpolation image data of pixels on a boundary is overlapped between adjacent blocks, the average of the overlapped interpolation data is taken and the other interpolation image data are made output image data as they are. Then, since the gap in gradation is not generated at the block boundary, block distortion is reduced.</p>
