Polyester staple fibers for padding materials having special crimping characteristics, apparent staple fiber denier, and>=85fmole % ethylene terephtalate unit was described. The staple was with of crimping 80-93%), 0.8-1.3 loops/25mm of secondary crimping (degree of crimping 12-20%), and 5.0-9.0 of apparent denier.
