PURPOSE:The title composition having a low pour point, improved viscosity characteristics and detergent action, obtained by blending a polyoxyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether with one or more kinds of oil selected from the group consisting of mineral oil, ester oil, and polyolefin oil. CONSTITUTION:55-95 wt.% of a polyoxyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether shown by the formula R-O-(C3H6O)a-(C4H8O)b-H(R1 is a residue of a 6C-28C branched alcohol having freezing point not higher than 0 deg.C; both a and b are 0 or integer, and a+b is 3-20) is blended with 45-5 wt.% of one or more kinds of oil selected from the group consisting of mineral oil, ester oil, and polyolefin oil. The polyoxyalkylene glycol monoalkyl ether is obtained by addition polymerization of a branched alcohol, e.g., iso-octanol, with an alkylene oxide in the presence of a catalyst. |
