The machine has a superconducting rotor excitation winding in a chamber filled with a coolant, and an electrothermal screen in an evacuated space between the rotor and casing. It is cooled by the coolant flowing from the chamber through channels near the rotor ends. Rotor (1) ends and the above coolant (11) channels (13) leading to the screen (10) have necks coaxial with the rotor (1) and shaft (2). They enter into each other, leaving a slot between them, and are connected with each other. This slot communicates with the evacuated space between the rotor (1) and casing (5). Two heat exchangers (17) are in the above necks.
