An electrodischarge machine for diesinking comprises a spindle system with a main spindle (1A) connected directly or not through a reduction gear to a high-power servomotor (15) capable of producing large rotor inertia, and the servomotor (15) is provided with a high-resolution encoder (14). The encoder (14) produces a spindle speed signal during the high-speed rotation of the spindle (1A) and produces angular position and speed signals of the spindle (1A) during the angular indexing of the spindle, and all the signals are fed back to a motor driver (16) provided with the servomotor (15). The high-speed rotation and accurate angular indexing of the spindle (1A) are controlled by a single servomotor and a single encoder.
