<p>The wind deflector is sited on the windward side of a canal and creates an artificial calm in the protected zone. The installation consists of contiguous top and floor panels the top panel being horizontal with an upturning curved segment on the leeward end. The bottom panel is specifically inclined to deflect the wind upward. The leading section (2) of the top panel is parallel to the wind direction, and the inter panel gap corresponds to the depth of air current being deflected. The curved and linear sections of the top panel may be tangential, and the bottom panel may be sited to the windward of the tangent point in oblique or normal plan formations.</p> |
