Apparatus for the oxygenation of activated sludge in a sewage purification plant

The apparatus is made up of a cylindrical support frame (1) rotating about a horizontal axis and partially immersed in the tank (4) for purification using activated sludge. Horizontal tubular conduits (2) are arranged in layers over the periphery of the support frame. These conduits are open at their ends so that at each turn of rotation they are filled with air while passing through the atmosphere and expel the air which they contain in the form of bubbles while they pass through the liquor of activated sludge. <IMAGE>
