Retainer battens (1), for direct attachment to a wall or ceiling surface, have a continuous groove or rebate (3) on their longitudinal sides. Cladding panels (2), fitting close against the surfaces of the battens facing their rear wide, have a Z-shaped clip (4) at the point of connection. One Z shank (7) is fastened at the side on the contact surface between batten and panel, on the rear side, and the other shank (6) is aligned across the batten, to engage the groove on its side. Clip stem (5) length is such that, when this shank engages the groove, panel and batten are held close together, at right angles to the panel plane. Prefabricated retainer battens are easily fitted close against the ceiling or wall. |
