Automatic separation of CRT cones and screens - is by alternate heating and cooling following acid bath treatment

The automatic sepn. process is for the cone section of a CRT from the screen section where the two have been fused together and where the screen region is to be recovered. Tubes are placed face down on individual trays slug from a transporter and plunged successively into a hot acid bath and then cooled, the alternate heating and cooling causing the two sections to separate. The acid is maintained at a temp. of 52-57 degrees C. Cooling is by a water spray at 18-24 degrees C, this being followed by heating with water at 74-80 degrees C.
