The junction box has a framework mounted on a base and supporting bus-bars and fuses. The framework is enclosed in a casing with a removable roof and a door at the front. The roof (6) is hinted to the head end of the rear side of the casing (4). A distribution part, comprising an insulating board (11) or an insulating frame and bus-bars and fuses (12) fixed to it, can pivot about an axis (5, 1) at the head end of the framework (5) through an angle of about 180 deg. when the roof (6) is pivoted up. All cable connectors are at the rear of the framework. Flexible cables connect the cable connectors to the fuses.
