It sometimes happens that an aluminium foil strip wound onto a steel core does not meet quality requirements. The steel core must then be recovered. The method solves this problem by heating the steel core together with the coil to 220 DEG -250 DEG C. Due to the difference in the coefficients of the thermal expansion, the steel core can then be pulled out of the coil. For this purpose, the whole is placed on a table with a vertical supporting plate having an opening, e.g. a slot, through which the steel core protrudes, and the steel core is pulled out with a pulling device.
