The locking piece (2) serves for tongue-type fastenings of windows or doors. It can be inserted into a fixed frame (1) and there forms a recess for a tongue (3) of the tongue-type fastening. To prevent the possibility that incorrect operation of the locking mechanism will cause damage to the associated tongue (3), a wall (10) of the locking piece, the said wall laterally limiting the recess, is made resilient in the direction of the recess. <IMAGE>
