PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of temperature at rear end of thick steel plate by providing a continuous headening apparatus after a cooling bed following hot finishing rolling mill and hot leveler and also by providing a heat-insulating cover between the cooling bed and the continuous hardening apparatus. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous hardening apparatus for steel plate, the continuous hardening apparatus 5 is provided after the cooling bed 6 following the hot finishing rolling mill 3 and the hot leveler 4, and the heat-insulating cover 7 made of a heat insulator 10 is provided between the cooling bed 6 and the continuous hardening apparatus 5. The cooling bed 6 serves as a buffer to absorb the difference in working pitch between rolling process and hardening process, and also the cover 7 prevents the lowering of temperature at the rear end of thick steel plate, thus assuring the stable and high quality hardening of steel plate. |
