发明名称 METHOD OF MAKING GLASS FIBER FOR LIGHT TRANSMISSION
摘要 PURPOSE:A quartz glass layer containing Ga2O3 is deposited on the core glass, thus preventing the vaporization of added ingredients when the inside of the quartz pipe is densed by melting, thus making title glass fiber with wide transmitting zone because of no depression in refractive index on the core part. CONSTITUTION:GaCl3 or the like is used as the starting material for Ga2O3 and introduced along with silicon compound from bubblers into a quartz pipe, the parent material for glass fiber, to deposite Ga2O3 together with SiO2 as a glass layer. The quartz pipe is heated by generating heat plasma in the pipe, which is a direct method and very high efficient, thus giving high manufacturing speed. Consequently, the pipe is densed by heating from the outside, then melt spun. Thus, the depression in refractive index on the center part is prevented and high-quality glass fibers with wide transmission zone and reduced loss by connecting and binding are produced.
