<p>VACCINE FOR PROPHYLAXIS OF TRICHOPHYTOSIS IN HORSE AND METHOD OF PREPARING SAME The vaccine for prophylaxis of trichophotosis in horse is a suspension of microconidia of the immunogenic strain Trichophyton equinum in a physiological salt solution having the pH from 6.2 to 7.0, and the concentration of 30-45 million microconidia in 1 ml of sterile saline solution. The method for preparing the vaccine for prophylaxis of trichophytosis in horse consists in that the immunogenic culture Trichophytosis equinum is grown on a solid culture medium at a temperature of 26-28.degree.C for 15-25 days until optimum amounts of microconida of said culture as accumulated, after which the biomass is separated, homogenized to prepare a suspension of separate microorganism cells, and the end product is finally isolated by lyophilic drying. The use of the vaccine, prepared by the proposed method, rules out trichophytists morbidity among horses to abolish losses due to untimely sales of pedigree and sporting horses, and also prevents infection of man. When tried on a mass scale, the vaccine proved highly efficaceous (95-98 per cent).</p> |
