PURPOSE: A negative resistor circuit using an active device, and a resonator and an oscillator using the negative resistor circuit are provided, which have a good frequency characteristics and a simple circuit configuration and a low current consumption, and also improve linearity. CONSTITUTION: The negative resistor circuit(72) is constituted by using a gate of a field effect transistor as one end and its drain as another end, and by connecting a resistor between the gate and a source of the field effect transistor, which is an active device. The resonator includes the negative resistor circuit and an inductor(73) connected to the negative resistor circuit in parallel. The resonator further includes a serial resistor controlling the whole negative input resistance at a contact point between the negative resistor circuit and the inductor. The oscillator includes the negative resistor circuit, the inductor, an active resonator comprising a field effect transistor(71) whose drain is connected to the contact point of the negative resistor circuit and the inductor and its source is grounded, and a serial resistor to control an oscillation condition.
