<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture a decorative laminate having excellent surface hardness and impact strength, by covering a substrate with a sheet of resin-impregnated paper, laminating patterned thin paper with an adhesive, applying a top-coating thereto, and curing. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a substrate 1 such as hardboard is covered with a sheet of paper 2 impregnated with phenolic resin, and a patterned paper 4 prepared by printing a sheet of thin paper having an areal weight of <= 30 g/m<2> is bonded to the resin-impregnated paper 2 with an adhesive 3 such as vinyl acetate resin emulsion. A synthetic resin paint 6 for top-coating containing mineral particles having new Mohs' hardness of >= 10 is applied thereto at a rate of 70-200 g/m<2> to impart high abrasion resistance to the surface of the decorative laminate. The surface is again coated with 100-200 g/m<2> of a top-coating synthetic resin paint 7, and cured by heating. The decorative laminate thus manufactured has sufficiently high abrasion resistance to use as floorings. The mineral particles 5 are pref. alpha-alumina, etc., having particle size of 20-200mu. The patterned paper 4 may have sealing layer which eliminates the air bubble between paper, and improves the surface conditions of the product.</p> |
