PURPOSE:To compensate fluctuations owing to aging, environmental change, etc. and measure correct developing ability by stretching wire electrodes at the intermediate of transparent counter electrode plates constituting a developer path and alternately making a toner deposition mode and a cleaning mode. CONSTITUTION:A pair of transparent electrode plates 1, 2 which are disposed parallel by leaving a fixed spacing constitute the detecting surfaces on which the toner in the developer is allowed to deposit. The electrode plate 1 on the one side is selectively connected to a DC power source 4 and ground respectively through a timing switch. The other electrode 2 is held grounded. Two wire electrodes 5, 6 are stretched at the intermediate of both electrodes 1, 2 in parallel and at a right angle to the developer downstream direction and are respectively connected to a DC power source 8 through a timing switch circuit 7. The timing switches 7 and 3 are held interlocked and when positive voltage is applied to the electrode 1, the electrodes 5, 6 assume a state of floating and when positive voltage is applied to the electrodes 5, 6 the electrode 1 is grounded. |
