1488964 Selective printing L EMDE 9 July 1975 [26 July 1974] 28846/75 Heading B6F Apparatus for applying identification markings to webs as numerals or other characters comprises a plurality of spray guns, each spray gun providing a bar or strip marking forming part of a numeral or character by means of a suitably shaped orifice for the ink spray. Ink or dyestuff is provided to a central nozzle 13, and air to outer nozzles 16; together with a wide orifice 12, a strip marking 14 can be produced. Seven of such guns can be arranged to provide all the elements of a numeral eight. Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), remaining numerals from nought to nine being producable by cutting off the ink supply to one or more of the guns, Fig. 4 (not shown). |
