PURPOSE:To expedite drying and achieve the higher utilization efficiency of the apparatus without making hot air temperature so high by so arranging the apparatus that the blowing direction of hot air for drying of ink assumes the form close to nearly parallel with paper feed plane. CONSTITUTION:Ink is injected from an ink jet head 1 to become ink particles 6 which then deposit on paper 11. The paper 11 is fed by rollers 4, 5 and the paper feed is smoothly accomplished in the arrow direction by a quide 7, during which time printing is done on the paper 11. A fan 10 heats the hot air having been sucked to hot air by a heat source 9 and blows the hot air onto the ink deposited surface of the paper 11 along the travel direction of the paper 11, thereby drying the ink in a short time. When the hot air is blown to the paper surface in the form close to parallel to the paper plane, the hot air becomes laminar flow, by which the ink is evenly heated and drying is accelerated. This also enables the utilization efficiency of the apparatus to be enhanced. |
