PURPOSE:To obtain the title coke of high strength capable of increasing the effective yield of formed coke before charging to the blast furnace, by optimizing the mixing, and briquetting, and charging conditions in carbonization. CONSTITUTION:Non-(or slightly) coking coal as a main constituent is mixed with coking coal, adjusted to an average reflectance of 1.0-2.3% and a maximum fluidity (MF) <=20 ddpm (the Gieseler test), and pulverized to coal, 85% or more of which has a particle size <=1.0 mm. The mixed coal is incorporated with a caking agent, hot kneaded, and briquetted by a double roll machine under conditions of a briquette volume >=100 cc and a briquetting time >=0.180 sec/mass. The resulting briquettes are cooled in a storage tank temporarily. 30-80 wt.% of the briquettes and the rest of fine coal or briquetted coal forming ordinary coke state are charged into a horizontal coke oven and carbonized at a high temperature. |
