PURPOSE:To enhance color image quality and to enlarge an allowable range of processing temeprature, by specifically combining a specified barrier layer with a specified development inhibitor in the cover sheet of a color diffusion transfer photographic element. CONSTITUTION:A neutralizing layer containing 1-phenyl-5-mercaptotetrazole as a development inhibitor in an optional layer, and a neutralization timing layer or an auxiliary layer are formed on a transparent support in the cover sheet of a laminated united body type photographic film unit. A barrier layer is made of a vinylidene chloride-acrylonitrile-acrylic acid copolymer latex prepared by copolymerizing ethylenical monomers having free carboxylic, sulfonic, or phosphoric acid groups or their salts and formed as the uppermost layer of this cover sheet. This permits lowering of dye image density during storage after processing to be prevented by use of an amount smaller than that of a development inhibitor precursor and yet at a lower cost. |
