A plastics injection moulding machine has a cylinder (1) with an axially moveable, rotating screw (2). The diameter of a first screw section, which has a screw flight for material plasticisation, is similar to the internal diameter of the first section of the cylinder. A second screw section connected to the first has a smaller diameter corresponding to a second part of the cylinder (1) in which the injection nozzle (8) is located. An additional opening (9) close to the injection nozzle (8) allows plastic to flow out of the cylinder during injection through the nozzle and permits precise metering of melt during injection of micro-components. |
